All-Star Batman & Robin #1

Vicki Vale eagerly accepts Bruce Wayne's invitation to the circus. They witness the tragic murder of the Flying Graysons' parents and Bruce transforms into Batman to apprehend the killer, Jocko-boy Vanzetti. The corrupt GCPD tries to take custody of the orphaned Dick Grayson, prompting Vicki and Alfred to tail them. When the police threaten Dick, Batman intervenes, rescuing him and declaring him a new recruit in his war on crime.
