Joey Makk, bitter over his failed criminal past—once involving a raven trained to steal—plots revenge on Eddie Powe, the man who stopped him. Pretending to reconcile, Makk gifts Powe a raven trained to recite Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, while secretly using it to spy on him. Through the bird, Makk learns Powe has discovered a lost Poe manuscript, stored safely in his library for a public reveal. Adopting the alias “The Raven,” Makk leads a heist to steal and replace the manuscript with a forgery. Though his gang is caught, Makk escapes—until Hawkman, aided by the bird, exposes him and clears Powe’s name.
