During a stakeout, Elongated Man and Firehawk discuss love and secret identities. Ralph shares the story of how he met his wife, Sue Dibny, and their deep love. However, tragedy strikes when Sue is brutally attacked and killed in their home, leaving Ralph devastated. The hero community mobilizes to investigate the murder, with Green Arrow swearing vengeance. A funeral is held in Central City, attended by superheroes from around the world. Afterward, a secret group of heroes, including Ralph, forms to hunt down Sue's killer, whom they suspect to be Doctor Light.
