Clark Kent, interviewing actor Ronald Jason, is unexpectedly revealed as Superman when Jason splashes him with a chemical. Jason discloses his true identity as an alien named Dur, seeking refuge on Earth after his planet's leader was assassinated. Superman takes Dur to the Fortress of Solitude for safety. Meanwhile, Batman is visited by Tiron, another alien, who claims Dur is a criminal. They, along with Supergirl, confront Superman, but Batman realizes Dur has manipulated Superman. Seeking assistance, Batman recruits Batgirl while Jimmy Olsen and Robin uncover the truth about the aliens. In a final confrontation, it's revealed that Tiron is actually Ronald Jason in disguise, orchestrating a complex ruse due to his terminal illness. With Jason's passing, the heroes honor his memory with a statue in a museum.
