Spider-Man uncovers Mysterio’s operation at the Restwell Nursing Home—the same place Aunt May supposedly died. After a battle, Mysterio chains Spider-Man in a pool, leaving him to drown. He then visits the basement, where he has the Burglar—who once killed Uncle Ben—tied up. The Burglar had been searching for a hidden treasure in the Parker home. Mysterio claims he no longer needs him and leaves. The Burglar vows revenge and begins cutting his bonds with broken glass. Meanwhile, Spider-Man survives by using a webbed air bubble and drains the pool. Realizing it was an illusion, he breaks free, rests, heals, and prepares for a final confrontation.
