Amazing Spider-Man #344

While photographing illegal chemicals inside a warehouse, Spider-Man encounters Cardiac, a vigilante who destroys the supplies despite Spidey’s protests. Cardiac mistakes him for an enemy and escapes after a brief fight. Dr. Elias Wirtham, Cardiac’s alter ego, struggles with balancing his medical oath and vigilante justice. Peter visits Mary Jane on set, while Wirtham cancels public appearances to focus on his crusade. Later, Cardiac targets Sapirdyne Chemicals again but is ambushed by Rhino, sent by Justin Hammer. Spider-Man intervenes. Despite their efforts, Cardiac detonates the plant. As firefighters arrive, Spider-Man is left without answers. Hammer, amused, plots to exploit the situation.
