The Kingpin plans to silence negative press from the Daily Bugle by targeting J. Jonah Jameson. Meanwhile, Frederick Foswell joins forces with the Kingpin, but their meeting is interrupted by Big Turk, prompting the Kingpin to assert his dominance. As Spider-Man disrupts the Kingpin's operations, Jameson is kidnapped and brought to the Kingpin's lair, where he learns of Foswell's betrayal. Spider-Man arrives to rescue Jameson but is overpowered by the Kingpin, who orders their execution.
Key Details:
- 1st appearance of Robbie Robertson
- 2nd full appearance & 1st cover appearance of Kingpin
Spec Details:
- [Jan 2024] While we have seen Kingpin introduced to the canonical MCU with the addition of Echo and Disney's recent canonization of the Netflix series, we have yet to see an MCU version of Robbie Robertson!
- Robbie, who is often viewed as the counterpart to J. Jonah Jameson, becomes a friend and supporter of Peter Parker during his tenure at the Daily Bugle.
- [SPOILER ALERT] At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, we see that Peter is now off on his own. We can assume that he will begin his job as a photographer for the Daily Bugle and as such it's fair to speculate that Robbie will make a debut in the near future!
- Kingpin and Robbie aside, any comic collector worth their salt will tell you that Spider-Man keys are generally a pretty safe bet where the comic market is concerned.
