A mysterious figure in a Ravager costume attacks Adeline, leaving her hospitalized, then steals plutonium from an armored train she was hired to guard. He later torches Deathstroke’s home in Africa. Determined to uncover his identity, Deathstroke investigates Adeline’s recent employers by tracing her paychecks and interrogating associates. While questioning the wife of the man who hired Adeline, Deathstroke walks into an ambush set by hidden gunmen. Meanwhile, the Ravager imposter delivers the stolen plutonium to the Quraci military for a planned terrorist attack. Interspersed throughout, Wintergreen's journal recounts Deathstroke’s past—his origin, marriage, loss of his son, and fractured family ties.
