Hitchhiker John Kowalski's unique aura attracts the Man-Thing in Citrusville. They encounter Andrew Kale, who is in trouble with a bike gang led by Barnaby Stone. John intervenes, saving Andrew and prompting the gang's retreat when the Man-Thing appears. Andrew brings them to his home, where Jennifer Kale attempts to use magic to break the Magus Blade curse on John Daltry for Barbie Bannister, but the effort fails. Jennifer's call to Dr. Strange for assistance is unsuccessful.
