Barbie Bannister brings the seemingly innocent young man, Ian McGuire, on a boat trip with her family. To her horror, Ian turns out to be a pirate, and his crew murders Barbie's family. After escaping, Barbie finds herself in Citrusville's swamps, attracting the attention of the Man-Thing. She's also pursued by Ian and his men. Barbie manages to escape and is rescued by Sheriff John Daltry. Meanwhile, Ian's men meet their demise at the hands of the Man-Thing. Ian follows Barbie to Daltry's home, attempting to silence her. Overcoming her fear, Barbie defeats Ian and calls for police assistance.
