Captain Fate holds Sheriff Daltry and Barbie Bannister captive on the Serpent's Crown. The Man-Thing is provoked by a kidnapped airline stewardess' fear. Daltry demands a face-off with Fate, leading to a confrontation with the Man-Thing. Meanwhile, in the Bermuda Triangle, Khordes and Maura Spinner create a magical ship to pursue Fate. John and Barbie escape their captivity with the Man-Thing's help. As they plan to confront Fate, Khordes and Maura's ship arrives, bombarding the Serpent's Crown. The ensuing battle involves the Man-Thing, Khordes, Maura, John, and Barbie. Fate is killed, but John finds himself trapped on the ship, which mysteriously takes off and flies away, leaving everyone else in shock.
