Swamp Thing stows away on a ship to America but is discovered and attacked, forcing him overboard. He washes ashore in Divinity, Maine, a town trapped in the 17th century. There, Gideon blames Rebecca Ravenwind for the town’s misfortunes, accusing her of witchcraft. Swamp Thing protects her, but she is captured and sentenced to burn. He rescues her and her brother Timothy, only to learn Timothy is the true witch. He transforms the villagers into flowers, and Swamp Thing departs, knowing they are safe.
