In a vision, Thor—now Galactus’s Herald—witnesses the Black Winter destroy an alternate universe, first appearing as a God of Tyranny, then as a spectral hand that obliterates everything. Fearing the same fate for his realm, Thor guides Galactus to Clypse, one of five planets whose energy is needed to fight the threat. But seeing it’s inhabited, Thor withholds the next location. Galactus strikes him down for defiance. Thor fights back but is attacked by the planet's natives. While Galactus begins feeding, Thor evacuates the people. Clypse is destroyed, enraging Thor—until Beta Ray Bill arrives aboard Skuttlebutt, demanding Galactus answer for his crimes.
