Frank Castle encountered the Venom symbiote after Peter Parker abandoned it at a church, resulting in a darker, more violent version of the Punisher. Enhanced by the symbiote, Frank killed Tombstone and the Kingpin. However, the symbiote began secretly using his body while he slept, attempting to fully take control. Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Moon Knight discovered the truth and confronted Frank. Facing an internal battle, Frank ultimately regained control by threatening to kill both himself and the symbiote. The symbiote submitted, and Frank retained control. The heroes let him go, uneasy but aware they might one day need his new power.
