In Madripoor, Patch encounters the Hulk at the Princess Bar. After a misadventure involving waste splashing, Patch tricks Hulk into aiding him against a slave trade ring. Hulk, tricked into helping, turns angry when he discovers Patch's deception. Eventually, Hulk, aware of his manipulation, confronts crime lord Coy and departs Madripoor, cursing Patch's name for the trickery.
